The valuable piece of freeware called Subtitle Workshop is getting even better! If you did’t read my review about it, please do! The nice people from Uruguay that made this software are working on the next version. Until it’ll be done, test the Subtitle Workshop 4 Beta 3, a version that brings in some new features and fixes some bugs:

Added: text translation with Google technology! (requires Internet connection)
Added: SHIFT+ENTER and CTRL+ENTER for going through subtitles
Added: duration tag for custom format {swDuration}
Added: drag and drop of subtitle files

Handling the various range of audio and video file types can give you headaches every day. It happens very often to need a certain file type and you just go and google like crazy for a (free) transcoder. I reviewed this freeware last week and I called it simply the best free media player around. Now there’s a new version available which fixes some minor issues:
– a UI bug for Preferences window
– a bug related to Gretech ASF Source 2 Index Reading
You can use the player’s Update feature (Press F1 and then Update) to download the latest version of GOM Player.

Most of the CD/DVD burning software cost a lot of cash. The most popular is Nero Burning Rom, it’s a good program, but it costs about 60 Euro. There is a way to burn CDs and DVDs for free, and that’s CD Burner XP. Not as fancy as Nero, but it doesn’t cost a thing. And it’s valuable freeware.
If you open the program you’ll see this screen, where you can choose which type of CD/DVD you want to burn.
