Belarc Advisor – Your Personal PC Auditing Tool

by Dwarka Rao 16 February 2010 One Comment

One cannot afford a professional computer consultant for his personal computer because it not feasible on practical and financial grounds. Belarc Advisor is a free tool which scans your computer for all the lame and weak elements like anti-virus update, installed software and hardware, missing Microsoft hotfixes, benchmarks your computer with CIS (Center of Internet Security) and displays it to you on your web browser.

Apart from informing you about all the weaker parameters of your computer, Belarc Advisor tells you about the physical components on your computer like how much RAM you are using and even the things like type of RAM and slots on which your RAM is installed.

Belarc Advisor offers you with all the help that a professional computer consultant does. And while doing so you neither take any appointment nor do you pay a penny. While providing the complete profile of your computer, Belarc Advisor makes sure that it does not provide the extracted information to any other source, keeping the complete profile private.

  • Easy to use
  • Compatible with all the major web browsers which include Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Opera and many more
  • Compatible on all Windows OS (including Windows 7)
  • Provides in depth details of your computer within a minute or so
  • Gives you a clear picture about the required fixes

I have never reviewed a tool similar or even close to Belarc Advisor. Although there are some free programs which offer you with your computer profile, but Belarc Advisor provides a complete in depth and highly detailed report which includes all your software and hardware parameters and issues.

After testing the tool I found that all the information provided by this program was absolutely bang on. It not just lets you about the required fixes on your computer but also offers you with proper follow up for that issue.

Once you launch the program and ask it start scanning, your part of task is over. Within a minute or so it completes the scans and displays all the complete profile of your computer on your web browser.

When I say that Belarc Advisor display the report on your web browser it does not mean that it uses or stores your data somewhere on Internet. It just uses the local browser.

The concluded report offers by this program is highly impressive. It lets you look the bright as well as dark sides of your computer, without any technical help.

  • Easy to use
  • Small in size and hardly take a couple of minutes to complete its work
  • Addresses about all the smaller and bigger issues related to your computer

  • It just lets you know about the issue, does not fixes it

Once you use Belarc Advisor, you will surely forget calling any computer expert to find if something is wrong with your computer. This free program can prove to be a great help when you are looking to upgrade the hardware of your computer. Belarc Advisor can prove to be your virtual professional computer consultant which sits on your PC and always ready to offer help.

I have used and enjoyed Belarc advisor for years. Outstanding program. Recently after updating program when I ran it, instead of opening results in browser, it opened VLC media player. Of course, this did help at all. Has anyone any idea how to fix this? Thank you in advance.
