I’m always looking for better programs. However, SuperAntispyware is free only if you download the personal edition, with limitations. I was wondering if it protects your PC just as well as the Pro version?
@yemrev – it was to expect that Spyware Terminator wouldn’t work well on every machine. You must be one of the unlucky ones. I am also annoyed by toolbars that install without your permission.

I’m happy that the first guest post started such a debate My favorite freeware antispyware program is SuperAntiSpyware, I’ve been using it for almost a year no and it has done its job perfectly.

Full scan resulted in a totally frozen computer and the toolbar was installed against my will!
No thanks, i’ll stick to spybot and ad-aware.

Thanks for publishing my post Johnny. @ Ian – I don’t know about the toolbar because I’m not using it. Since I disabled the real-time protection, I scan my hard drive for spyware once a week and then turn it off again. I haven’t installed any toolbars. I agree that you have to substitute spyware removal tools with other, better programs eventually. This one is great considering it’s free.

Forgot to mention this: “you FORCED to install the toolbar even when using Advanced set-up, which is normal to leave certain items out. It also means, that the Crawler toolbar is exempt from their spyware definitions , which would be automatically crippled if installed by certain other programs.” and “Between the installing of the toolbar trickery and seems to lack finding half the stuff. I much prefer a-squared and SuperAntiSpyware now. Seems a spyware remover lasts 2-3 years, then you have to find the new kid on the block to get a solid program.”
The program looks solid except for the toolbar flaw.
