25 Freeware Programs for Web Designers

by James 17 May 2009 No Comment

A few days ago Jimmy Atkinson sent me an email telling me that he published a very interesting list with 25 freeware programs that can make a web designer‘s life a lot easier, for free! I’m just going to list the freeware programs that he mentions in his list and invite you to get more details about each program on his blog.

He divided the list in a few categories, here’s how it looks:

Editing, Uploading, Downloading

7-Zip
CSE HTML Validator Lite
FileZilla
KompoZer
Texter

Graphics

FontForge
Gimp
Inkscape
Serif Draw Plus
uMark

Photographs

Easy Thumbnails
Gallery
JAlbum
Picasa
Picnik

EZ-Design

Webs
Wix

Project Management

Clocking It
DimDim
Google Calendar Invoice Creator
Google Docs
Klok
ProjectPier

Miscellaneous

Premier Survey
File Dropper

Althogh some choices are debatable it’s a very good list overall, with a few programs that I’m very curious to try in the future. As far as I’m concerned the program that is missing is PicPick, a great multi functional freeware tool for making screen captures, picking colors and a lot more.
