Overview
GemQuake is a completely free game that could be useful for the moments when you are bored at the office. It’s a Tetris-based game, using groups of coloured gems instead of blocks.

Review
Time for some entertainment! I found GemQuake by chance, while browsing through the website of the people who made AMP Font Viewer, the best free font viewer if you ask me. I decided to download the game and play around with it for a while.

At a first glance it’s nothing special: just another Tetris game, with gems instead of blocks. You have to group 4 gems of the same color, quite entertaining. But the best part is the One to One mode. In this mode, if one player takes out more than four gems at the same time, a group of gems falls in the other player’s board. Trust me, you can have some fun if you play it with a friend. And I think it can be a great funny game for your kid too 😉

Verdict

OK

GemQuake is a very good free game for your lonely moments at the office or for having a few laughs with a friend. You should give it to your kid too 🙂 The best things are the One to One mode and the fact that you can install it as standalone on systems you don’t have administrator rights on.
