ALPass v2.74

by James 14 January 2009 2 Comments

ALPass is a freeware program that could be very useful for the heavy internet users. It can store your logins and passwords for different website memberships  and subscriptions. Unfortunately it works only with Internet Explorer

If you have dozens of website memberships and subscriptions like I do I’m sure you could use a password manager. Once in a while I try to login to a website and I can’t remember the password or the username, and I have to go through all the form filling in order to get a new password. ALPass could be a solution to the problem.

The first great feature comes up right when you install the program. You can install it to a portable device, USB stick or even camera! I think it’s useless to describe the awesome utility of this feature.

After installing you have to set up a “master account” with a login and password. Instead of typing login names and passwords each time you login to an account with ALPass you do that only once.

Looks very good, works very good. Unfortunately there is only one big flaw: it works only with Internet Explorer, doesn’t support Firefox, Opera or Chrome. 🙁

 Great features and functionality

 Works only with Internet Explorer.

Although I liked the program very much there is no reason for me to keep it because I use Google Chrome at home and Mozilla Firefox at work. I didn’t use Internet Explorer in a year or two 🙁 If you know a similar program that works with Firefox or Chrome please let me know!

Password Safe works with any browser and can autologin with a doubleclick. I use it many times a day.
