Best Free System Information Program
Yes, don’t worry, the Freeware Mission continues. I have only a few more great freeware programs to install and after that I’ll have my PC running as it did before the crash… but this time it will have only freeware programs installed! Today I’m going to choose a free system information program. There are many good ones available.
If you ask me the top three freeware system information tools are PC Wizard 2008, Everest Home Edition and SIW, in any order you want them to be. It’s difficult to make a choice. PC Wizard 2008 and Everest definitely look nicer, but SIW is at least as good as those two. I think I’m going to keep SIW (System Information for Windows) for two reasons: it offers a lot of nice extra features and the author is Romanian, like me

SIW is nice…
It’s not free however, it’s shareware. When using some options, it is bugging you to buy the software.
@Dave
I kinda disagree. The freeware version of SIW is not “crippled”, all the essential functions are there. For more complex stuff you can buy Thechnician’s version or Business version. Maybe the annoying thing is that you can’t export to txt or csv or whatever, only available in the paid versions, but you can always copy the text and paste it into notepad or something
[...] SIW (System Information for Windows) – Great free system information tool, provides info about the components and software environment in your computer. Also has some interesting extra features like network bandwidth monitoring and password manager. [...]
Unfortunately this once good application is now bundled with “OpenCandy”, install to your OS at your own risk!
