Ever Thought About Getting your IT Knowledge Certified?

by James 22 November 2008 No Comment

All the information technology knowledge that I have is “self-taught”. I never went to a computer class, although there was one at the university but I gave up on it. It was for beginners, and it annoyed me that the teacher was always explaining what a mouse was. Anyway, I have some information technology knowledge because I’m always curious to find out and eager to learn. But that won’t qualify me for an IT job for instance. If you apply for such a job you need some sort of certification of your knowledge, and although I have some of the knowledge, I don’t have any written certification.
Now don’t get me wrong, I never thought of applying for an IT job in the first place. But I think that having open possibilities ahead of you is always a good thing. So I was thinking about getting my knowledge certified and maybe even get more knowledge in the process. And if you think that the IT field is growing continuously, that will make you want to have the opportunity to get in at some point.
While searching for training and certification opportunities I found this one: Cisco certification. They have a wide range of certification programs, all going along with training programs that will get you very well prepared to the certification exam. You can take online tests just to verify your knowledge level, and then maybe get ready for the real exam.
If you think about getting a job in the information technology field you must know that this field is very competitive, and that’s why you have to be very well prepared. And have a certification too.
